We are happy to welcome you to Daniel Jouseff’s first exibition with the gallery. Daniel Jouseff will show a new body of work where the common ground is the search for identity, and where Spider-Man takes on the leading role in asking the poignant questions.

"When you see that character the first time, dressed head-to-toe in red and blue, without a trace of skin, you realize he could be anybody. He could be you."

Daniel Jouseff became known to a wider audience this past summer, having produced two large-scale exhibitions at Södertälje Konsthall and at Skövde Konsthall. He works like an archeological snapshot photographer. He digs and examines the soil on which we stand, at the same time as he distills the larger philosophical and political currents running through society. He looks into popular culture such as comic strips, music, tv-shows and fame, turning the mirror elegantly back towards the viewer. He works with language, reducing long texts into a few words. Or he turns them into quick drawings, mapping out the search for identity and the longing for a language that is his own. What are you, if you are not at home within the mother tongue of your parents, and if you feel that the language in which you live, is not entirely yours? The work of Jouseff's plays on stereotypes and popular culture, at the same time asking the most relevant questions about the time - and the world - in which we live.
